Job Description

A Walk in the Park is looking for a dependable, organized Dog Daycare & Boarding Support Coordinator to help keep our daycare and boarding operation running safely and smoothly. This is a hands-on dog-care position for someone who can keep track of many moving parts while communicating clearly with staff and paying close attention to details.

The Support Coordinator helps organize the movement of dogs through the building, keeps feeding and boarding care on schedule, maintains accurate records and reservations, communicates important information to other staff, and helps make sure the right dog is in the right place with the right instructions at the right time. The position also includes substantial daily cleaning and physical dog care.

This is not a desk-only coordination job. You will work directly around dogs of different sizes, ages and activity levels, move throughout the facility for much of the shift, and work both indoors and outdoors in changing weather. Daily cleaning can include urine, feces, vomit, dog hair and mud. You must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and safely lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

We are looking for someone who is reliable, comfortable learning our systems and procedures, able to communicate well with coworkers, and capable of staying organized when several tasks need attention at the same time. Experience with dogs is helpful, but we also provide training in our procedures and safe dog handling.

Core Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the daily movement of dogs between daycare groups, rest areas, boarding areas and other scheduled activities.
  • Help keep feeding, boarding care, arrivals and departures organized and on schedule.
  • Maintain accurate records, reservations and operational information in our software and internal systems.
  • Communicate changes, instructions and important dog-care information clearly to other staff.
  • Work directly around and handle dogs of different sizes, ages and activity levels after appropriate training.
  • Perform substantial daily cleaning and help keep work areas organized, sanitary and ready for use.
  • Work both indoors and outdoors throughout the year, including in hot, cold, rainy or snowy weather.
  • Follow established safety procedures and pay close attention to details throughout the shift.

What Happens Next

  • When you submit the application, it will be sent to our team at A Walk in the Park.
  • We review completed applications and contact selected candidates when we believe there may be a good fit for the current opening.
  • The next steps may include a phone conversation, an interview, and time at the facility so both you and our team can learn more about the fit.
  • There is no need to submit the application more than once.
