Our Current Scent Space Experience ⏳
👻 The Ghost of Canterville:
Canterville Chase feels very different when you enter it alone.
Alongside our group enrichment adventures, The Ghost of Canterville will also inspire four new Scent Space experiences. Scent Space is designed for one dog at a time, giving each dog the freedom to investigate without having to follow another dog, keep up with a group, or interact with everything we have created.
Over four weeks, the room will change from an old house filled with traces of its past, to Sir Simon’s increasingly determined attempts at a haunting, then into a forgotten garden hidden beyond the house, and finally a quieter garden where familiar scents return and the haunting begins to fade. Each environment will use scent, sound, movement, textures, hidden discoveries, unusual placement, pathways, and food searches to invite exploration.
There is no correct way through Scent Space. A dog might follow one scent across the room, stop to listen to a distant chain, investigate beneath an unfamiliar object, ignore Sir Simon completely, or discover something we never expected to be interesting.
The story creates the world. What happens inside it belongs to the dog.
Welcome to Canterville Chase, our The Ghost of Canterville Scent Space experience.

Introducing the Scent Space: Unlocking Your Dog’s Superpower
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
A Walk in the Park Introduces Scent Space – A Revolutionary Canine Enrichment Experience
Toledo, OH – 03-17-2025 – A Walk in the Park™ Dog Daycare, Boarding, Grooming, & Training is thrilled to announce the launch of its new Scent Space, a one-of-a-kind sensory enrichment experience designed to engage dogs in a way that aligns with their natural instincts. This innovative service is now available at their 1920 Indian Wood Circle, Maumee, OH location.
For dogs, sniffing is more than just a pastime—it’s how they experience and interpret the world. While humans rely on sight, dogs depend on their noses to understand their surroundings. Their extraordinary sense of smell allows them to detect changes in human health, emotional states, and even track scents that are days old. However, without an appropriate outlet, this natural behavior can lead to boredom, restlessness, or destructive tendencies.
That’s why A Walk in the Park has introduced Scent Space, a designated area filled with a variety of textures, scents, and interactive challenges that allow dogs to use their noses safely and constructively. This isn’t just an added bonus—it’s a vital form of enrichment that helps dogs stay calm, focused, and mentally stimulated. By providing them with a structured way to practice their “superpower,” pet parents will notice a happier, more relaxed, and better-behaved companion.
"We believe that enrichment isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity for a dog’s well-being," said Dirk Broersma, Owner at A Walk in the Park. "The Scent Space is designed to offer dogs a fulfilling way to engage with the world around them, improving their confidence, reducing anxiety, and making their time at daycare even more rewarding."
This new service reinforces A Walk in the Park’s commitment to cutting-edge canine enrichment and provides pet owners with an innovative way to support their dog’s natural instincts and mental health.

At A Walk in the Park, we understand that dogs experience the world through their noses, just like people experience it through their eyes. Sniffing isn't simply a fun pastime—it's essential for their mental and emotional health.
That's why we created our innovative Scent Space, a one-of-a-kind environment designed specifically to help dogs safely engage their noses and thrive.
