Why is Social Sleeping a Better Experience for Dogs When Boarding?

IMG 4290 1920

Social sleeping, or allowing dogs to sleep in a group setting, can be a better experience for dogs when boarding for several reasons:

  1. Comfort: Dogs are social animals and often feel more comfortable when they are with other dogs. Sleeping in a group can provide a sense of comfort and security for dogs that are in an unfamiliar environment.

  2. Anxiety Reduction: Dogs that are anxious or stressed when away from their owners may find comfort in sleeping with other dogs. They may also be less likely to bark or whine during the night if they have the companionship of other dogs.

  3. Exercise and Play: When dogs are allowed to sleep in a group, they are often also given the opportunity to play and interact with each other during the day. This can provide mental and physical stimulation, which can help reduce anxiety and promote relaxation at night.

  4. Better Rest: Sleeping in a group may help dogs get better rest because they are less likely to be disturbed by outside noises or other distractions. This can lead to more restful sleep and better overall health.

  5. Socialization: Social sleeping can also help dogs develop better social skills and become more comfortable with other dogs. This can be especially helpful for dogs that are shy or nervous around other dogs.

Overall, social sleeping can provide a more positive experience for dogs when boarding by reducing anxiety, providing comfort, and promoting socialization and exercise.

However, it is important to note that not all dogs enjoy sleeping in a group, and some may prefer to sleep alone. Boarding facilities should assess each dog's individual needs and preferences and provide appropriate accommodations.

  • Our Premium Boarding Service is available to all daycare members.

  • Our Standard Boarding Service is available for our daycare clients who are not members but are adhering to our attendance policy of two visits per month.

  • Our Value Boarding Service is available to everyone else from within our geographical area, but if we haven’t met your dog yet, we need to schedule a meet and greet to make sure we are comfortable with each other.

Both for daycare and boarding services, dogs need to be dropped off between 6AM and 9AM. Our lobby will be closed between 9AM and 3PM daily. Dogs can be picked up between 6AM and 9AM and again between 3PM and 6PM, but for the afternoon pick up, daycare charges will apply. We have late pick up between 6PM and 8:45PM. Late pick up charges of $2 per hour will apply.

To make sure dogs are taking their medications, we ask that you do not place them in their food. The same goes for vitamins and supplements. Please bring the medications in the original packaging, so we know what the medication is and what is prescribed for.

Our lobby is open from 6AM to 9AM and from 3PM to 6PM. All dogs that are coming for daycare or boarding have to arrive by 9AM at the latest. Dogs can be picked up from boarding between 6AM and 9AM. Our lobby opens again at 3PM for pick up only. For boarding dogs that are picked up in the afternoon, we charge a daycare fee for that day.

Daycare fees depend on the membership level you signed up for. We have the option for you to pick up your dog after 6PM, but we charge an after hour pick up fee of $2 per hour. Our latest pick up slot is at 8:45 PM. We do not allow any pick ups after 9PM, no exceptions. At that time we are getting our boarding dogs ready to settle in for the night and we need it to be calm and quiet in the facility.
